The City of Florence

The Duomo, Brunelleschi's dome, Piazzale Michelangelo, the Uffizi Gallery and the Accademia, Santa Croce, make up a legacy of art and civic virtue that is unique in the world: Florence has it. But there are also splendid hotels and small but comfortable pensions, world-level restaurants and old or ultra-modern trattorie: all the fruit of a thousand years of progress toward perfecting the art of good living. Commerce, industry, crafts, finance, and “virtude e conoscenza” are the foundations on which arose an art, poetry, and civic culture never equaled by any other city later in history.

Although it is naturally “globalized,” Florence has not grown at an inordinate rate as have other cities, some with equally distinguished historical and cultural traditions. The city has intentionally retained a dimension that is “to the measure of man,” as we are wont to say today. The visitor is not forced to make long, boring commutes to meetings; in Florence, hospitality and physical and spiritual wellbeing go hand in hand in spaces in which the noblest aspects of living reverberate at every step.
Florence - uniquely in the world – is a true point of reference for the hospitality system in general and therefore the conference/trade fair system as well. The city layout, with a “small” center rich in suggestions and proposals, is ideal for uniting meeting needs and relaxation. However Florence is also a privileged meeting destination for its easy access: few hours are enough to reach Florence international Airport from all major European hubs, which provide comfortable connections from all over the world as well.

Florence airport is located 15 minutes drive from the city center, with an easy shuttle-bus transfer. Florence, with its strategic position in the middle of Italy, also boasts fast and efficient rail and motorway links with the rest of the country. And after a working day, a pleasant and short walk to reach the Hotel.

The Meeting Venue

Firenze Fiera boasts 65,000 square meters of trade fair and conference center facilities in which past and present are seamlessly united: the powerful yet congenial beauty of the Fortezza da Basso, the nineteenth-century elegance of Villa Vittoria, the modernity and formal cohesiveness of Palazzo degli Affari.

Villa Vittoria, which hosts the Palazzo dei Congressi (conference center), is a jewel of the 19th-century architecture. It was built by the Strozzi family of Mantua and completed in the first half of the 20th century by the Contini Bonaccossi family. The complex is characterized by the harmony with which the rooms with period decoration and antique Florentine furniture fuse with others of modern, functional design. The large underground auditorium has a seating capacity of 1,000.
